Volunteer Application
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Riley's Rescue of Brevard, and for taking the time to fill out this application. Once approved, our team will send you an email with our volunteer contract to be filled out for insurance purposes, at your convenience.
**If you are under the age of 18, this must be filled out with your parent/guardian and signed by both minor and parent/guardian. Volunteers 16 years of age or younger must have their parent/guardian fill out a form as well.
We look forward to talking with you!
You will receive a copy of this application in the email provided.
Events Coordinator:
We would like to find one person (or two who could work together) to be our Events Coordinator. This should be someone who likes to research community events that we can attend as a vendor. This person should enjoy speaking to people and should be able to complete all necessary communication to get us registered and prepared for events. This person will work closely with the Volunteer Coordinator to ensure we know how many volunteers we need for an event, and to ensure we get the proper number of volunteers registered and attending. ***Note: If you are potentially interested in being our Events Coordinator, please email admin@rileysrescueofbrevard.org directly!***
Events Team:
Our Events Team works together to do the following:
Set-up/tear-down event tables, tent, merchandise, etc. if physically able
Attend community events to talk about the rescue and sell merchandise
Represent Riley's Rescue of Brevard in the community!
Organize the merchandise in our trailer before and after events
Keep an inventory of our merchandise to know when we need to order more
Keep track of what type of merchandise sells well and what doesn't, etc.
We need volunteers who are available on weekends as most of our events are on weekends. We also need very reliable volunteers - if volunteers cancel at the last minute, we may not be able to attend the event and share about the rescue/our available animals!
Working events is great for those who like to speak to people, and also a great fit for two friends who'd like to volunteer and work events together!
Communications Team:
Our Communications Team works together to do the following:
Return phone calls: We get many phone calls a day asking questions about our available animals, about lost or found animals, and general questions.
Call to check-in on current fosters to see if they need food or supplies, and to see how the animal is settling in.
Call former foster applicants to see if they are available to foster currently.
Call former adopters to check-in and see how they are doing now and if they need anything.
Send thank you cards to fosters, donors, and volunteers.
Most of the work of the Communications Team is done 100% from home. This is a great fit if you enjoy speaking to people on the phone OR enjoy hand-writing notes.
Marketing Team:
Our marketing team works together to do the following:
Manage our social media profiles
Create posts about our available animals, community events, and fundraisers
Answer Facebook questions in messages and comments
Manage our website
Email monthly newsletters
Design various materials like flyers, posters, and other handouts
Serve as a point of contact for media inquiries
Organize and maintain a library of marketing assets, including photos, videos, and templates.
Adoption & Foster Placement Team:
Our Adoption & Foster Team works together to do the following:
Screen applications - call people to speak about their applications, lifestyle, answer questions
Complete vet checks over the phone
Complete home checks in-person
Work with the rest of the A&F Placement Team to determine best fit for a dog/cat.
